Teddington RFC v Petersfield RFC KO 15.00
In the last 16 of the Counties One
Papa John Community Cup

On Saturday Petersfield journey across the Thames to the Middlesex side to face Teddington RFC in what appears to be their toughest challenge of the season so far.

Comparing the teams Counties One league form Teddington are league champions of the Surrey & Sussex league having played 22 matches winning 21 their only loss to their league’s second placed team Old Tiffinians. Teddington amassed 1024 points at an average of 48.76 a game while collecting 21 try bonus points. Petersfield with 20 matches recorded won 19 and drew away against Havant II Petersfield scored 968 points at an average of 53.78 a game with 18 try bonus points. Past form from previous meetings will give little information as the two clubs last met in season 2018-19.

Having played Teddingtons league rivals Weybridge Vandals in the first round last week the team management were able to obtain some information from the visitors on the style play and tactics of Saturdays opposition.

The team is almost unchanged just three starting changes with Ryan Wilkie wearing two in the
absence of Sam Brown, Matt Momber is listed as a finisher while Greg Jansen comes in at blindside flanker and Karter Whittock moves to number eight for the unavailable Rhys Bowen. The backs are unchanged and the bench, made up to the full allowance of seven has Dan Luff, Oli Hunt, and Tom Potter join Matt Momber as the forwards finishers. The remaining three are all pacey backs and worthy replacements for any position.

A word from Petersfield RFC Team Manager Jamie Williams -

This is our biggest challenge to date. Teddington are a strong side and we are not taking them lightly. We have prepare well this week and the boys are up for it. If we play the way we know we can, it is going to be a very exciting game for spectators. For the coaching team it’s going to be edge of our seat.
