In a swapped venue fixture Nomads, who had pitch issues, were hosted by Petersfield today. Essentially the visitors first team they showed discipline and flair and wasted no time making ground against a Petersfield team that was a little slow to get going.
Field had some good passages of play but were perhaps a little too keen to kick possession away early on. Forwards found it difficult to build a platform and Nomads scored a couple of tries early on. Filed with new faces, a different line up, and with a few guys playing out of their normal position struggled with scrums and line outs and facilitated the away team many opportunities to expose those issues. As the game developed the Nomads grew in confidence and extended their lead.
Field were stoic and every man gave their all even when with 30 minutes to play they were reduced to 13 men (through injuries) against a full 15 team playing fluid rugby. The resolute attitude resulted in a well deserved consolation try although Field have much to reflect and improve on in preparation for next weeks match. Final result Nomads 60 Field 5.
