Petersfield RFC enters its 99th year in 2026 as we edge ever closer to our centenary in 2027. The real thrill does not wait until then however. This year is already filling up with big plans, new ideas and moments that will bring the whole club together.

Starting their 2026 this weekend against Chobham, here’s a look at how the final ten games of the 25/26 season look and what pre-match lunches we have in store for you:

Key Events
Blackout The Stigma Weekend
Saturday 21st – Sunday 22nd March
One of the standout weekends of the year comes in March, as Petersfield RFC partners with LooseHeadz for our Blackout The Stigma weekend.
Saturday will see a landmark moment for the club: our first ever men’s and women’s double-header at Penns Place, supported by a special pre-match lunch. Both sides will wear our blackout kit at home, with the entire weekend centred on opening up conversations around mental health in rugby.
Sunday shifts the focus to the next generation, with a Girls Rugby event delivered alongside LooseHeadz and Capgemini. Former Red Roses will lead a training session before an open Q&A, bringing players, parents and coaches together for an afternoon built on learning, honesty and shared experience.
This weekend is about more than fixtures and results. It’s about people, purpose and using rugby as a force for good.
Petersfield Pub 7s 2026
Sunday 3rd May
Fresh off its 30th edition, the Petersfield Pub 7s shows no sign of standing still. With the tournament now fully back to pre-Covid levels of energy and attendance, plans for 2026 are bolder than ever.
This year will feature:
That’s 32 teams descending on Penns Place in what is set to be the busiest Pub 7s we’ve ever hosted. And it doesn’t stop there. The long-term vision is to grow the event into a true community festival - potentially across an entire weekend and even branching into other sports. More details and team sign-ups for the 2026 Pub 7s will be coming soon.
Lead The Field: Networking & Partnerships Evening
Wednesday 29th April
Following the success of last summer’s networking evening, Petersfield RFC will once again bring together local businesses, supporters and partners as we look ahead to the 2026/27 season - our centenary year.
The evening will feature speakers from across the club, sharing stories of progress on and off the pitch, while also marking the start of our next commercial partnerships drive. Last year welcomed around 50 guests; this year, the aim is to fill the clubhouse and spark new connections that carry into our 100th season and beyond.
Save the date - more details coming soon.
City Lunch: A New Chapter in Club Fundraising
Friday 17th April
Plans are underway for Petersfield RFC’s own City Lunch - a flagship fundraising event designed to bring the club into a more corporate setting while staying true to its roots.
Think sharp surroundings, great food, engaging speakers and an auction that draws on the creativity and generosity of our wider network. City lunches have become the single biggest annual fundraiser for other clubs in the area, and our ambition is to create something that supporters, sponsors and friends of Petersfield RFC genuinely look forward to each year.
Details will follow, but the intention is clear: raise vital funds, broaden our reach and celebrate the club in a new environment.
Minis Under Lights: Rugby After Dark
Early 2026
Across six Friday evenings, the club will host floodlit round-robin festivals for U7–U12 age groups, welcoming five local clubs each night. With a 6pm kick-off, rugby under lights, the bar and café open, and hot dogs waiting at the final whistle, these evenings are designed to feel special - not just for players, but for families too.
With anticipated attendance of up to 1,000 people per festival, Minis Under Lights is set to become one of the most exciting additions to our calendar.
We are still looking for companies to sponsor each of these evenings, if this seems like something you’d be interested in hearing more about, email our marketing director James Barden here
With league rugby still finely balanced, landmark events on the horizon and new ideas coming to life, 2026 feels like a year where everything connects. It’s about building towards our centenary, yes - but more importantly, it’s about strengthening what makes Petersfield RFC what it is: community, ambition and shared moments on and off the pitch.
The countdown to 100 has begun. And it’s already gathering pace.
