
Minutes of Petersfield RFC AGM
3rd October 2024 7 PM
1. Apologies for absence:

Peter Caines, Gill Forbes, Stuart Barden (delayed by traffic).
2. Minutes of previous AGM:
These were circulated and approved.
3. Matters arising;
There were no matters arising.
4. Chairman’s report (Stuart Barden)
2023-24 – arguably the most successful season the club has ever had
Senior rugby
• 1st – Won Hampshire Counties 1 – undefeated – promoted to Level 6 Reginal 2 Central the highlest league position the club has even been
• 2nd – Won Hampshire Counties 5 - undefeated – promoted to Hampshire 2
• 3rd Team out regularly at the end of the season –
• Vets play 8 matches – mostly Friday nights
Youth
• Over 500 kids for the first time
• Various Cups and Shields from county events.
• Clubhouse:
• Installed Rear Covered Area – sides going back on through next week
• Installed £72K’s worth of Solar Panels and batteries – massive difference to our Electricity Usage

Grounds
Massive thank You to Chris Todd, Geoff Gray and Rob Bloomer for their continued hard work on the pitches and pitch marking

This Seasons Focus:
• Adding numbers to our Senior section to maintain our league status for all Teams
• Youth S&C – 3 weeks a night of S&C Training led by the Gladiator Team including the purchase of new equipment to make possible
• Investment into the Girls Section to get us over the line in numbers such that we can put Teams out at all age groups
• Review of our Sponsorship plans to try to increase revenue to pay for
5. Secretary’s report (Rob Mocatta)
The club has had an excellent year off the field. Membership is up and the administration of the club proceeds smoothly.
6. Treasurer’s report (Rob Mocatta)
The club showed a loss of £3,066 for the year, following a profit of £16,672 the previous year. The main reason was a significant reduction in grants and the expense associated with the summer ball, which had not made the returns expected.
7. Motion to approve 2023/24 accounts without Formal Audit
These were approved unanimously.
8. Election of officers
The AGM re-elected the secretary, the treasurer and the President. These three re-elected the Chairman. There were no other volunteers for these roles.
9. Election of Vice Presidents:
Wendy Wilson Was elected a VP
10. Awards presentations:
There were no awards
11. Any other business
The AGM agreed not to increase the subs. There was a detailed discussion about how to get more members to attend the AGM, and the timing of the AGM.
