Sunday 6th May sees the annual end of season party at Penns Place as the Pub 7’s brings the curtain down on the playing season.

With over 20 teams entered, there is a competition for everyone – those who take it seriously, those less seriously and those who want to party from the start. The event, once again sponsored by the Trooper Inn will see a couple of additions this year.

In honour of renowned local Publican and club supporter Gerry Hicks, his wife Sarah will be judging the Best Shirt Competition and presenting a Tankard in his name – reward for some of the outstanding designs we have seen in the past.

Also this year the Club will be backing up its commitment to supporting the Rosemary Foundation Charity by emblazing its logo on the Referee’s shirts – which have been kindly sponsored by CWC Research.

The action packed event will kick off at 10.30am with the carnival atmosphere going on until the final approx. 4.30pm.

Last Year’s Winners the White Horse will no doubt be up against it as the Queens Head and the Tap enter strong sides, we welcome back Coxy’s Windmill Inn from last year’s sabbatical – but the Penguins will be missing as Team Manager John Delahunty recovers from a recent illness.

Also gracing the competition for the first time is Petersfield’s own Charlie Amesbury who will be playing for Cloisters – a large step up from his time with Harlequins, Newcastle, England 7’s and, more recently, captaining Oxford University at the Varsity match.

A great day of rugby is in store for the spectator – but also and event to catch up with old friends, renew acquaintances and enjoy another successful year for the club.
