Petersfield RFC are seeking an experienced and ambitious Forwards Player-Coach to join the club as we continue to build on recent progress both on and off the field.

Competing at Level 6 of the English rugby pyramid, Petersfield has established itself as one of Hampshire's most progressive community rugby clubs, with a thriving senior section, growing player pathway and clear ambitions for the future.

As part of our ongoing development, we are looking to appoint a Forwards Player-Coach who can play a leading role in shaping the performance, culture and development of our senior squad.

The successful candidate will bring proven playing experience at National League level or above, alongside strong technical expertise across all aspects of forward play, including scrum, lineout, maul, breakdown and restart strategy.

Working closely with Director of Rugby Matt McLean and the wider coaching team, the role will involve supporting the planning and delivery of training sessions, mentoring players, reviewing performance and helping to drive standards throughout the club.

We are looking for an individual who combines strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for player development. The ability to create a positive learning environment and influence performance both on and off the pitch will be key.

While previous coaching experience would be advantageous, this opportunity is ideally suited to a current or recently retired National League forward looking to take a significant step into coaching whilst continuing to contribute as a player.

Petersfield RFC is committed to supporting coach development and will assist the successful candidate in attaining relevant coaching qualifications where required. Knowledge of player welfare, injury prevention, performance analysis and modern coaching principles will be highly valued.
