Petersfield RFC is, and has always been, an amateur club. Our 1st XV plays at Regional 2 level, in a league where a good proportion of clubs pay their players. We do not, and we have no plans to right now. What we do instead is something we believe in more: we make sure that pulling on a Petersfield shirt comes with real value, real visibility, and real backing from the local business community that grew this club into what it is today.

Following the 1XV's highest league finish in club history and a season that pushed our social media past 16 million annual views, we are opening Men's Player Sponsorship for 26/27 with a target that matters more this year than ever before: 45+ senior players sponsored before the new season kicks off. In 24/25, we had 34 senior players backed by a sponsor, and the level of support that came with it was a real part of what we achieved on the pitch. For 26/27, with new players arriving and a squad in the best shape it has been in for years, we want to go further.

Every senior player. Every weekend. Every season.

When you sponsor a Petersfield player, their journey through the season becomes yours too. Your logo walks out with him. When his name is on the team sheet, your logo is next to it. When he is featured in the social posts, your logo is right there. Every team announcement, every weekly social post, every matchday programme, every piece of behind-the-scenes content. From 26/27, we are also adding a new logo placement on the back of every sponsored player's training shirt, putting your brand on every training night and every clubhouse evening too. If your player does something, your logo is on it.

How it works.

Gold (£520) is for our 1st XV. The ambition for 26/27 is that every 1st XV player has a Gold sponsor by the time we kick off in September. Silver (£380) is pitched at our 2nd XV players and the younger senior players coming through the squad.

A step up for 26/27.

This summer, the club has struck a major new partnership with The Petersfield School, giving us access to their newly renovated, fully rugby-ready 4G astro turf every Thursday night from October onwards. It is a step change for our winter preparation. Anyone who has tried to train through a Petersfield winter knows how often the weather can disrupt a season, and the 4G means our training stops only when we want it to. It is essential for the level we are now competing at. The 4G partnership comes at a cost, and the club membership has gone up slightly as a result. Our Player Sponsorship prices have risen accordingly, so that the investment continues to cover the full cost of a player's membership and match fees as it always has.

What the investment funds.

Every Petersfield Player Sponsorship covers a player's full club membership and match fees, and equips them with the Petersfield RFC × Gilbert kit pack: the bespoke 26/27 training shirt (with sponsor logo on the back), the new bespoke match shorts, and for Gold sponsors, the full senior stash extension covering the Black Pro Active Quarter Zip Jacket and the Royal Club V4 Senior Players Holdall.

Why it matters.

Amateur rugby is a balancing act. Players give their time, their bodies and their weekends to wear the shirt. The least the club can do is make sure they have the kit, the support and the visibility that match the level we now compete at. Every Men's Player Sponsorship is a piece of that. Without it, we are a smaller club, less able to back our players, less able to recruit and retain at the level we want to. With 45+ sponsors lined up for 26/27, we keep all of it: a proper amateur ethos, a senior squad properly resourced, and a club ready for a defining year on the road to our 100th season.
