Last November, we introduced Community Partners, a new way for local businesses to support our members without a financial commitment, offering discounts and benefits in exchange for visibility across the club. The idea landed well. The response, however, told us something important: while the concept was strong, the mechanics weren't quite there yet.
The main sticking point was simple but significant. Without a reliable way to identify who is actually a Petersfield RFC member, businesses had no easy way to apply discounts at the point of sale. A great offer means little if there's no straightforward way to redeem it, and that gap meant the scheme never really got off the ground.
Since then, we've been working on a fix.
A proper membership system
Petersfield RFC has now rolled out a new membership system, complete with physical and digital membership cards for every player, parent and supporter. This means, for the first time, our members have something simple and tangible to show local businesses at the till. No apps to download, no lists to check, just a card that confirms who they are.
This single change removes the barrier that held Community Partners back the first time around, and it means we're ready to relaunch the scheme properly.
What Community Partners still offers
The idea itself hasn't changed. It remains a straightforward exchange of value:
A business offers PRFC members a discount or benefit of their choosing
In return, the club promotes that business across our platforms, including the website, matchday programmes and a dedicated clubhouse display
Community Partner+ is still available for businesses wanting a pitchside board at Penns Place, for a one-off fee of £250
With verified membership now in place, redeeming these offers should be quick and hassle-free for both members and businesses.
We're looking for partners
With more than 600 players, 25 teams and a wider community of over 1,500 members, parents, volunteers and supporters, Petersfield RFC offers real reach for local businesses. We're now inviting businesses across Petersfield and the surrounding area to get involved, whether that's a discount for health and wellbeing services, hospitality, retail or something entirely your own.
