The 1st XV is the flagship side of Petersfield RFC, representing the club at the highest level in its proud history. Competing in Regional 2 South Central (Level 6) for the 2025/26 season, the team continues to build on an extraordinary rise through the leagues, following a fifth-place finish in their debut campaign at this level.

On the pitch, Petersfield are committed to playing an exciting, expansive brand of rugby - combining tempo and skill with traditional forward grit. The club encourages flair, freedom, and creativity in attack, underpinned by a rock-solid defence and a tight-knit squad mentality.

The side is led by a talented and passionate coaching group - Matt McLean, Liam Perkins, Andy Patience, Harley Orr, and Craig Chance - bringing a mix of elite knowledge and deep club roots. They're supported by an outstanding backroom team including Team Manager Jim Elgar and physiotherapists Rosie Castle and Caitlin Robson, who ensure the squad is firing on all cylinders.

Training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday from 19:00 to 20:30 at Penns Place, with hot food served every Thursday to round off the session.

The squad culture is one of hard work, humility, and togetherness. The 1st XV are deeply connected to the wider club community, with many players giving back by supporting Minis and Juniors coaching on Sundays - nurturing the next generation and setting the tone for what it means to be a Petersfield player.
