Calling all girls!!
Inspired by the Women’s Rugby World Cup and fancy trying something a little different? Come and join the fun of girls’ rugby at Peterfield.

Whether you are seasoned “pro” and have been playing from a very young age alongside the boys through the mini’s section (Under 5 to Under 11), or you want a first taste of the game of rugby, our girls’ section is the place where it is all happening. We like to keep the fun in the game, whilst learning and building new skills to help grow together as a team.

Bit of background:
Nationally, until U11s, girls train and play in mixed mini rugby. From U12 onwards, the girls leave the boys behind and move to dedicated girls’ squads U12, U14, U16 & U18.

However, it is recognised that by the time they get to U9s, the girls start getting fed ups as they are not getting the ball passed to them by the boys as often as they would like.
To keep the players interested and enthused, we have set up a Girls Academy with specific girls-only training on Tuesday evenings for U9s through U12s. This helps them to see that there is a pathway within the girls’ section and helps them to retain their love of the game as well as forging new friendships and having fun.

So what do we offer?
U9-U12 Academy Training every Tuesday from 18:00 to 19:00.
U11/U12 Training every Sunday with selected Sundays open to all girls (U9-U12) - from 10:00 until 11:30

Give us a shout if you intend on coming as we may be at home training or away on tournament, or feel free to rock up on a Tuesday evening and join in.
